About the series

You have spent decades making decisions, building a career, and showing up for the people and responsibilities that need you. Most summers, you arrive in Quogue still carrying the pace of the rest of the year.

Return to Yourself is a six-session guided experience for people who are ready to use the summer differently. Each Sunday morning, in a small and private group setting, you will do focused inner work: clearing the inherited patterns that have been quietly shaping your decisions, reconnecting with what actually matters to you at this stage, and arriving at a clear picture of where you want the next chapter to go.

Each session builds directly on the one before it. The arc follows a progression, where the entire series produces shifts that a single session cannot.

Sessions are open to Quogue Field Club members and their guests. You may register for the full series or individual sessions. The full series is recommended for anyone seeking a cumulative shift rather than a single experience. The room holds no more than 20 participants and is designed to feel intimate, focused, and completely separate from the rest of your day.

The Arc

Six sessions, one progression

  1. 01

    Compassion for Mom

    July 12

Your relationship with your mother shaped the standard you hold yourself to. It shows up in how you speak to yourself when you fall short, how patient you are with your own imperfection, and how naturally you extend grace to others while rarely pausing to extend it to yourself. By shifting how you see that relationship, you soften that inner standard, creating more self-acceptance and more ease in daily life.

Why this opens the series. The inner critic is the root system. How you lead, how you parent, and how you make decisions all grow from the same ground. Tending to it first changes the quality of everything that follows.

  2. 02

    Kindness for Self

    July 19

Research shows that 80 percent of our daily thoughts trend negative. For high-performing people, that inner voice runs in the background of every meeting, every decision, every moment of rest that still feels like it should be productive. This session interrupts that loop by rewiring how you respond to yourself in real time, so you can move through your days with more clarity and less internal resistance.

Why this follows Session 1. Week one softens the judgment you inherited. This session turns inward and addresses the version you carry with you everywhere. By this point in the arc, you have enough self-awareness to use the practice immediately and feel the difference.

  3. 03

    Empathy for Dad

    July 26

Your father shaped how you relate to the outside world: to authority, to ambition, to the definition of success you have been running toward. If there were high expectations, you may have internalized a pace that feels impossible to step off. If there was distance, you may be seeking approval in places that will never provide it. This session brings empathy to that dynamic, so you can show up in your work, your finances, and your relationships with more ease and less weight.

Why this is the midpoint. The first two sessions clear your internal foundation. This one addresses the external scaffolding: how you perform, how you measure yourself, and what you are still working to prove. Reaching this session without the first two means arriving without the ground to stand on.

  4. 04

    Relationship Patterns

    August 2

The dynamics you grew up with did not stay in childhood. They came with you into your marriage, your friendships, your professional relationships, and how you show up for your children. The caretaker, the peacekeeper, the hero: these patterns became identities over time. This session makes them visible so you can begin to choose which ones to keep and which ones to set down.

Why this session comes fourth. By this point, you have released the inherited judgments, quieted the inner critic, and examined where your drive comes from. You now have the clarity to see your relational patterns as patterns, which means you can choose what to do with them rather than simply live inside them.

  5. 05

    Meeting Your Inner Child

    August 9

Beneath the title, the family, the schedule, and the years of becoming someone is the person you were before anyone told you who to be. That person carries what is genuinely yours: the instincts, the interests, the sense of aliveness that gradually got covered over by decades of responsibility. This session is the return to that foundation, where you meet what is actually yours and remember what it felt like before the roles defined the rhythm.

Why this session comes fifth. You have spent four sessions releasing what was never really yours. This is where you meet what is. It creates the emotional foundation that makes the final session not just reflective, but directional.

  6. 06

    Claiming What's Ahead

    August 16

This is where the previous five sessions land. Whether you are in the middle of a transition, standing at the edge of one, or simply sensing that a shift is overdue, this session gives that feeling space to be explored. What matters to you now, at this stage, with this much behind you? What do you want to move toward with intention and direction? You will leave with a clear, honest answer you can carry back into your life.

Why this closes the series. The clarity available in Session 6 is not available in Session 1. It is the natural destination of the arc, earned through the preceding five weeks, and the reason the series is designed to be experienced whole.
